I’ve hardly mentioned one of the most important and amazing parts of my journey. In 1966,
at the age of 18, I met an incredible man in Mannheim, Germany. His blue eyes and dimples stole my heart – but little did I realize the how he would nurture not only my heart but every phase of my life. I married him in May, 1967 with no idea of the incredible life journey on which we were about to embark.
After 44 years of a joy filled life together, he continues to inspire, encourage and support me – he makes me want to be my highest self. He has also been my greatest teacher. It’s from him I’ve learned life’s most important lessons.
- In order to love another fully, I must first learn to love myself.
- To live in the present moment with out worries of tomorrow, without regrets or blame for yesterday.
- To let go of all the fears, self doubt, control and accept the gifts and challenges that life brings.
- To live connected to loved ones, to nature, to all creatures and mostly to this one precious life.
Now that we are retired and we both pursue our heart callings I fully appreciate and understand the precious gifts he has given me. Should I ever find the courage to fly – I know that he’ll be there supporting me, “the wind beneath my wings.”
